Well we successfully mastered taking a one way train to Salzburg, although when we arrived at the train itself we found out that our reserved seats were no longer physically on the train – so ended up moving to the economy section – Hayden found a 1st class seat though. It’s a 1.5 hour train ride from Munich to Salzburg, so pretty simple to get here.
Well Gavin is now officially 21 years old today, strange thing is exactly 10 years ago we were at Machu Pichu celebrating his birthday. Today, Munich and a tour of the Olympic facilities, BMW museum, walking through a very long festival, and ending with a very nice dinner in the English Garden.
The family is visiting Washington DC for the weekend, enjoying a unique exhibit called "Planet Word." They toured the White House Garden with thousands of others, dined with a relative at Cafe Berlin, and explored notable landmarks. Future plans include a mystery picnic, work opportunities in Morocco, and a trip to Ireland around Halloween.

Well we completed the last day (two days ago) – ended up being a great hike with a simple up/down hill (1000 feet) but mid-hike there’s a very small town with a chocolate shop – oh wasn’t someone surprised and excited to see that! We were out the door by 9 a.m., hiked the first five miles pretty fast and were able to have a nice break before finishing the last five miles into Pitlochry. […]
The trek has officially covered 70 miles, with one day left for about ten miles. Today was enjoyable, despite challenging steps at the end. Encounters with wildlife were limited, and weather conditions improved. After shopping for underwear, a satisfying dinner was enjoyed. The trip has so far avoided significant rain.
Well today was a really good one – the walk for the first couple of miles was again on asphalt (yuck) and uphill, but then once you get off of that it was a great trail/road then a formal trail with mushy / muddy spots and everything you could want in a trail.
