Well Singapore is 14 hours ahead of MST, so it’s a bit strange to think at 8 pm here it’s 6 am back home, but we’ll work through it. My Garmin watch has a feature called Jet Lag Advisor and it really helps manage this process- today is my second full day and have made it fully though the day without much trouble. Yesterday was a bit harder, but gets better each day. Ashley (work colleague and our friend all things NOLA) arrived this morning at 6 am and that first 12-24 hours is really tough. We were able to walk to China Town today, but then Ashley started to fade, so let her go find her room and I went running (inside). Today it was pouring rain and then warmed up nicely.
So this morning walked down from the hotel towards the city, found a pig (picture) and supporting friends… Generally it’s very clean here – Ashley said chewing gum is not allowed – glad that’s not a thing for me! But we were able to walk around China Town and see the various shops, etc. Ashley is also a travel agent, and as such has a list of places, things and to-do’s ready to go. We actually went and found two separate food booths – one is for “chicken and rice” – seems pretty basic enough – but there was about 100 people in line for it, so we passed. Looking at peoples plates it looked a bit bland, but I guess it’s very good. We instead found ourselves eating pork and chicken satay’s at a different booth – it was good and also cheap.

Today I actually am starting to feel more human again, got caught up on work and emails. There’s a lot of stuff happening so being 14 hours sort of makes you semi-offline during USA work hours. This week will be incredibly busy with meetings in Singapore then on Wednesday transiting to Bangalore India.
And some more images of today’s adventure. Note, another cat cafe exists in the world…

Tell Ashley that being with her family in NOLA was so much fun. Hope she makes it to Seattle one day. Glad you are adjusting.
Love, Mom
