Yo Tokyo, I’m here for 96 Hours

Yup, Leave Sunday, pretty much lose Monday due to 16 hour time zone change and now I’m in Tokyo and it’s Tuesday (end of the day). I’ve worked out my jetlag stuff pretty well – funny thing is that with it being 16 hours difference you go backwards in the jetlag time adjustment period. Yesterday my watch said -16 hours, this morning it was -7 and now it’s -5.5 vs local time. So even though […]

Lisbon – Sunny and Warm

Ok, now in Lisbon – seems like only yesterday I was in India and now I’m here – even with a weekend in Chicago and Leadville. A lifetime ago I was in Lisbon and Portugal – spent a summer working on a farm further south of here – and Lisbon is definitely a bustling city with lots of tourism and AirBnB business at the heart of the city. Today Kerry and I (we’re both here […]

Quick Trip to Chicago

Well it’s been a fast couple of weeks and back at work, having to fly to Chicago (2 hours) for a tradeshow on Airline Loyalty programs. I was able to also bring Cindy along and we visited friends and hung out for a couple of days. The weather was really amazing, shorts even on Friday, Saturday a.m. was pouring rain, so we got really lucky with nice weather. We ended up taking the boat architectural […]

Well Made it Home – 21 Hours of flying

So I decided that the best flight option coming home was a 3 a.m. departure from Bangalore to Denver – via Frankfurt. Was it convenient, yes, was I really tired, for sure. Was able to have dinner with Ashley at our hotel, then shower, pack and leave for the airport around 11 pm. By the time I got into my seat and settled it was about 2:45, and I remember taxiing back from the gate… […]

Yup, made the transition from Singapore to Bangalore India today – about a 4.5 hour flight and generally wasn’t bad. Found myself in 51A with ‘no status’ – window seat which was nice. Nice guy next to me falling asleep on my shoulder was also ‘nice’. We arranged for the hotel to pick us up at the airport and were treated in 5-star style. Everyone so far is incredibly nice and very helpful. Ashley booked […]

Singapore – Playing Tourist in a BIG Way.

Alright, I have to admit that when we go as a family we try to get off the beaten path and largely stay away from the tourist centered focus places, but in Singapore it’s been about every place that I’ve been – super fun but also a little overwhelming. Ashley and I have been to little India, Chinatown, boat tour, skyscraper, casino/hotel resort (built on man made island), etc. etc. etc. It’s all very interesting […]

Singapore, Getting Time Adjusted!

Well Singapore is 14 hours ahead of MST, so it’s a bit strange to think at 8 pm here it’s 6 am back home, but we’ll work through it. My Garmin watch has a feature called Jet Lag Advisor and it really helps manage this process- today is my second full day and have made it fully though the day without much trouble. Yesterday was a bit harder, but gets better each day. Ashley (work […]

Well yes I’m in Singapore (via San Francisco) for work and literally going around the world in 9 days. We are here for a couple of meetings Sun-Tues and I definitely need 2 days to get acclimated and the start of time zone adjustment period started. it’s 14 hours vs home so anything to improve is good. The trip door to door was almost exactly 24 hours, strange to leave Wednesday a.m. and arrive Thursday […]

Interlaken Day Trip by Boat, Waterfall and Paragliders

Well yesterday we took a pretty cool touristy excursion on the lake that we are basically staying on. Interlaken is very touristy spot, if you want to buy an expensive watch in Switzerland this could be your spot. Lots of tourists walking around (us included), and seemingly a lot of Asians and Indian people as well. We took a paddle wheel boat to a hotel spot on the lake with an amazing waterfall – had […]

Salzburg Austria, Rainy Day #1

Well we successfully mastered taking a one way train to Salzburg, although when we arrived at the train itself we found out that our reserved seats were no longer physically on the train – so ended up moving to the economy section – Hayden found a 1st class seat though. It’s a 1.5 hour train ride from Munich to Salzburg, so pretty simple to get here.
